Retirement and Older Men's Health
Today I went to Urbana Middle School for a two hour Substitute Orientation. I think I got paid about $20 before taxes. I plan to substitute a minimum of 100 days this school year. Teacher Retirement System allows me to substitute 120 days a school year this year and 100 days a year next year. This year I will earn about $10.63 an hour with no benefits.
Places I have worked (for pay):
1964 Picked up sticks, 50 cents an hour, got in a stick fight the first hour and we all were fired.
1965-1966 Clark Surplus Liquidators. Started at $1 an hour, ended at $1.10
1967 Mt. Carmel Trailer Court 2 Days – broke window out of truck with shovel.
