I was up on the roof yesterday, two and a half stories up. I replaced three pieces of siding on one of the dormers, did a little touch-up painting, and sort of fixed a loose gutter… well, fixed the gutter. Like Dad said about Uncle Wes, I am not a bad man, just a poor man with poor ways. I am no longer strong enough to carry and lift my 25 foot ladder up to the second story gutter, so my plan was to climb out the attic dormer window and reach over the eve and refasten the gutter. Either the pitch of the roof has greatly increased over the years or my center of gravity has shifted. I could reach the gutter, but couldn’t lean over far enough to hammer the gutter nails back in. GOOD NEWS! I was able to fix the gutter. I won’t bore you with telling you how, nor will I tell you just because you are interested, but if you ever have the same problem and plan to fix it I will then let you, and just you know the secret.
