Two things:
1. A student asked me, since the world was going to end in 2012, which Norse god would awaken to destroy it. I didn't know which one to pick, so I shared this poem with him.
Fire and Ice
Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.
Robert Frost
2. It snowed all day, but only a little bit.
Dust of Snow
By Robert Frost 1874–1963 Robert Frost
The way a crow
Shook down on me
The dust of snow
From a hemlock tree
Has given my heart
A change of mood
And saved some part
Of a day I had rued.
