I went to the Art Theater yesterday and saw the movie "Mud". It was about a boy and three men in his life, all of whom suffered with unrequited love (with the women/girl in their lives). None were destroyed by it and in the end they all learned to accept it. Or maybe it was a Huck Fin movie on the Mississippi with Jim and Huck and Tom... Well, it was that, too.
I always like going to the Art. It is the only small, single screen theater left around here. It was opened around 1913. In the seventies it showed X rated movies, but now shows independent movies, some foreign films, or movies that don't make it to the multiplexes on first release. I think "Mud" will go on to be shown more widely.
The Art Theater is now the county's only "co-op" theater.
