Teachers had little bargaining rights before 1984. Teachers were inprisioned for going on strike. What can I say to convince you that collective bargaining is a good thing in a free market.
"We must put a stop to the assault on collective bargaining before it happens. Call your state representatives now and tell them that since its inception in 1984 (in Illinois), the collective bargaining law has:
•Dramatically reduced the number of strikes;
•Regulated labor relations, and;
•Given school employees an effective professional voice in improving our schools.
Contact your state representatives and ask them to oppose any attempt to diminish the collective bargaining rights of school employees.
