1. I took a picture of our May Pole and sent a picture and note to Channel 3. “It’s a beautiful May Day and we have spent the morning dancing around our May Pole celebrating Spring and working people around the world.”
2. I’m in a dark mood.
3. I’ve got nothing to say.
4. I actually had a good day. I just don’t want to talk about it.
5. Nothing happened worth recording.
6. Still nothing.
7. I hope toilet seat and bathroom faucet get here by Mother’s Day.
8. Hip hip hooray! I get to go to the doctor for my INR!
9. Oh, here is a tidbit. I’m following Bronwin’s lead and doing 25 pushups a day. Today is day nine. What’s on my mind? The two humming birds I saw today plus the brown thrasher, Rose-breasted grosbeak and the Baltimore Oriole. Brown Thrash is listed as uncommon but I see one every year. This one has been around a few weeks. I’ve put fruit out before, but this is the first Baltimore Oriole I’ve seen. It only was around a couple of days. The Rose-breasted grosbeak has been around a couple of weeks. This is the first time I’ve seen it at our feeder. And two hummingbirds. The hummingbird migration map says they’ve been around a week or two, but these are the first of the year for me.
10. Mother’s Day The DeRouchie’s are coming. It is worth the risk. I got Ma a “Toilet seater” for Mother’s Day. Do you, Sarah and Suzanne, remember when I got her a toilet seat for her birthday about 35 years ago and Sarah watched her unwrap it and was so excited? “It’s a toilet seater” she exclaimed excitedly. We went upstairs and installed it. I made a “how to video”. I wonder if we still have it!
11. Nothing.
12. Mowed. This stay in place has aged me by years, but has mellowed me.
13. The forecast is for 40 days of rain. I feel Noah’s age.
14. I took lunch to the grandkids and got to visit (at a safe distance) for awhile.

18. I read the footnote for “?” at the bottom of this page. Three days in a row? And with the end of the 14th and the beginning of today; that’s four days... a long time. Maybe I should add Alien Abduction to the list of reasons for “?”
19. The power was off for about an hour this afternoon. It was quite nice.
20. “Wasted Days and Wasted Nights” by Freddie Fender just came on the radio. Freddie Fender was Roger’s favorite singer. Roger was my boss at Service Liquor. He was quite a guy. Here are some quotes of his: “I don’t pay you to sit on your butt,” as he hands me a feather duster. When I grumped that he never said we were doing a good job he quipped, “You get paid every week don’t you?” He griped at me, “I thought you were in the military,” as he jerked the mop from my hands and showed me how to mop. I grumbled under my breath, “Yeah, but we didn’t have decks to swab in the Army. And much, much more. I still occasionally dream I decide to go back to work there, but Roger is gone and I just don’t fit in.
21. What is that big yellow thing in the sky? Oops, it’s gone.
22. What you lookin’ at?
23. ?* okay, this is personal and I don’t want to talk about it, but you asked me nicely. I hurt my knee.
24. Still hurts.
25. Better.
26. I feel like my Great Grandfather Isaac Newton Dalrymple after he was in solitary confinement for two months during the Civil War. He was able to lose the weight when he was transferred to Andersonville. Book’s on Google Play History of the 112th Regiment of Illinois Volunteer Infantry
27. I am experiencing Cassandrafreude. Better to experience it than go around telling everyone, “I told you so.”
28. The world is changing because of COVID, I hope for the better. Me too.
29. Well, not yet. (See 28)
30. Today I saw I saw this tiny rainbow hiding in the bushes. Someone asked me if there was a sprinkler near by. I said, “No, it’s fairies.” Today I saw a baby praying mantis, four teenage robins still living at home, a small toad, a baby rabbit and a turkey vulture circling overhead. They made me feel happy.
31. Today, I took a picture of this baby praying mantis. It was tapping energy from the solar grid used to charge the yard lantern. OMG! I just noticed the UFO’s in the background!
*: The question mark is used to indicate the author doesn’t remember, he doesn’t want to talk about it, or he wants to talk about it but what happened is top secret and the author, if pressed, would plead the fifth.
